Union Valley Reservoir is located approximately 40 miles from Placerville at an elevation of 4,900 feet in the pristine El Dorado National Forest. Union Valley contains 2,890 surface acres of water and is surrounded by pine and granite covered peaks. There are several campgrounds located around the lake providing tent, RV's, and group camping. All boating is permitted as well as jet-skis, water-skiing, and swimming; launch facilities available. Although fishing is limited to rainbow trout, lake trout, brown trout, and kokanee salmon the angler is often rewarded with trophy class catches. For more information contact the Pacific Ranger Station at (530) 644-6048. Ice House Resort (530) 293-3321. Camping Reservations (800) 280-CAMP.
