Lake Shasta is located at the Northern tip of the Sacramento valley at an elevation of 1,067 feet. This huge lake has over 370 miles of shoreline with a total of 30,000 surface acres of water, making this the largest manmade lake in California. Shasta is truly a boater’s paradise with many secluded coves and open water. Trout, bass, catfish, bluegill, crappie, and chinook salmon are some of the most popular species of fish available. There are many campgrounds situated around the lake as well as overnight boating permitted. For more information contact the Shasta Recreation Company at (530) 238-2824.
