New Hogan Lake is located approximately 40 miles east of
Stockton at an elevation of 715 feet in the Sierra Nevada
foothills. New Hogan has a surface area of 4,400 acres with 50
miles of oak covered shoreline. There are several campgrounds at
the lake suitable for tents, RV's, group, and boat-in camping.
There is a full service marina, launch facilities, and rentals
are available. All boating is permitted as well as jet skis,
water skiing, night boating (15 mph speed restriction) and
swimming. Grocery store, bait, tackle, hot showers, dry storage,
and fuel are available at the lake. New Hogan contains a good
number of Striped Bass, catfish, bluegill, crappie, and black
bass. For most anglers striper fishing is the name of the game
at New Hogan. The striper average from 2 to 5 pounds and are
easily caught trolling shad or anchovies 20-25 ft deep. The
prime time to hook into these hard fighters is between June and
