Loon Lake is located approximately 100 miles from Sacramento at an elevation of 6,500 feet in the Crystal Basin Recreation Area. The Forest Service maintains several camping facilities suitable for both tents, RV's, and group camping. All boating is permitted as well as swimming and water-skiing. Improved launching facilities are available. Fishing is limited to rainbow and brown trout and is usually very rewarding. For more information contact the Pacific Ranger Station at (530) 644-6048.
