   Collins Lake is located approximately 25 miles north east of Marysville in the pristine Mother Lode Country. Collins rests at an elevation of 1,200 feet and has 13 miles oak and pine covered shoreline. There are two campground located at the lake suitable for tent, trailer, or RV's; full service hook-ups are available. All boating is permitted year-round; water-skiing is only allowed May 15th through September 15th. Boat rentals are available at the marina. Excellent day use facilities including a swimming beach are located on the west side of the lake. Collins is well known for the quality, trophy class trout and also holds a good population of catfish, bluegill, bass, and crappie. For more information contact Collins Lake at (800) 286-0576.

-
February through may are the best times for the cold water species.

-After May trolling at 32 feet using a Sep's large Colorado flasher in front of a needlefish or nightcrawler produces good result for trout anglers.
